Midas Physiotherapy Newcastle

John has been a qualified, Chartered Physiotherapist since 2014 with additional qualifications (in both Physiotherapy, and Sports Science) and set up Midas Physio NCL in 2018, using his Greek heritage to inspire the name.  

As well as spending a number of years working within the NHS and private settings, John has also worked specifically with athletes of all abilities (from grassroots through to international medallists) and across numerous sports. Combined with his own background as a competitive swimmer, this vast range of experience allows John to help you achieve your goals and get back to fitness as quickly and effectively as possible.

Some of John’s most notable achievements to date include:

• Greek National team Physiotherapist for their first ever World Cup 2022

• Medical Lead at Blaydon Rugby Club

• Physiotherapist at Northumbria Police Federation

• Full-time physiotherapist at Northumbria University, specifically working for the High-Performance Sports Department during their most successful era in the British University Championships (BUCS). John was the lead physiotherapist for the:

  • Men’s & Women’s Football (BUCS & Northern League)
  • Men’s & Women’s Rugby Union (BUCS, England invitational 7’s tournament, and against Scotland’s development team)
  • Men’s & Women’s Basketball
  • Women’s Netball Super League & BUCS teams
  • University student competing at both the Commonwealth games and at International standards


He also worked closely with, para-swimmers, track & field athletes, Men’s & Women’s Volleyball, and American Football teams.

  • Physiotherapist for the Newcastle Falcon’s Women’s first ever game in 2019.
  • Team USA Select Basketball’s European Tour lead physiotherapist since 2014.


John is currently the lead physiotherapist for Blaydon Rugby Club. Having worked with them since the Summer of 2018, they were recently playing in the National 2 North League; the 4th highest league in English rugby Union. He also performs Ergonomic Workplace assessments for Clavering Stationers – the Human Office.
